VISTA calculates surface vertical deflection and vertical deflection slope while allowing controlled study of pavement structure, material behavior, vehicle geometry, speed, and interface condition. It is designed to support interpretation of response profiles measured along the TSDD line.

VISTA's moving-load predictions have been compared with 3D-Move for viscoelastic pavement-response profiles. Its localized interlayer-debonding formulation has also been evaluated against three-dimensional Abaqus simulations. These comparisons assess agreement for the matched structures and analysis conditions in the supporting study.
Use VISTA for parametric studies, mechanistic interpretation of TSDD data, evaluation of loading and interface effects, and development of physics-based response datasets. The tool provides a practical, TSDD-oriented workflow without changing the need for detailed three-dimensional analysis when fracture, damage evolution, or interface opening must be resolved explicitly.

VISTA is formulated for layered linear-elastic and linear-viscoelastic response under uniformly distributed circular tire loads. It does not explicitly model nonlinear material behavior, nonuniform tire-contact stress, interface opening, progressive damage, or crack propagation.
